The Tupelo City Council gave final approval on Sept. 2 to two resolutions granting exemptions from ad valorem taxes to Shiloh Holdings LLC and Spec Mattress LLC after the Mississippi Department of Revenue returned their approvals.
City staff said the council had previously approved the exemptions in an earlier meeting and that the items were sent to the state Department of Revenue for review. Staff told the council the Department of Revenue has approved the exemptions and the council’s final sign‑off was now required.
