Chief Kern and Captain Horton presented documentation listing waivers, standards, expectations and duties for interns. Staff said the program is intended both to provide practical experience for students and to serve as a possible recruiting pipeline for the department.
The board authorized the program and the accompanying documents as presented.
Alderman Wheeler moved to approve the internship program; Alderman Hoots seconded. The motion passed on a roll call vote.
