The Brookfield board approved two temporary-event requests for October: a multi-day Halloween weekend at Moose Mountain and a neighborhood Trick-or-Treat Spooktacular on Drew Farms and Curry’s Way on Oct. 25.
The Moose Mountain weekend event will include a banquet-hall function, live music and DJ sets, a children’s program (bounce house, kids activities 11 a.m.–4 p.m.), trunk-or-treat and adult programming with a 21-plus Halloween Dash and live music. The organizer confirmed event hours would follow normal operating hours on Friday and would end on Sunday evening; the board approved the event as presented.
The Drew Farms/Curry’s Way “Trick or Treat Spooktacular” is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. on Oct. 25 with trick-or-treating, a touch-a-truck display, horse-drawn hay rides operated by Lakeside Carriages and neighborhood stops mapped for participating homes. For the event the neighborhood’s usual two-way traffic will be temporarily converted to one-way (entry at the Drew Farms end and exit at the Curry's Way end) from set-up through the event to maintain a consistent flow when horses are on the route. The organizer (Caitlin) described it as a free, family-oriented neighborhood event and said this is the neighborhood’s fourth annual Spooktacular.
Board members noted that the Drew Farms application arrived late relative to the town’s submission policy but treated it as a one-time exception and approved the event; staff and organizers were reminded to submit future applications earlier to allow administrative review.
