Montgomery County officials told the Board of Commissioners on Oct. 9, 2025, that they have processed about 100,000 mail-in ballot requests, will open drop boxes in mid-October and have enlisted roughly 1,500 poll workers for the Nov. 4 election.
"We do have 1,500 poll workers in this election and 390 judges of election," a county commissioner said. The same official said about 100,000 residents had requested mail-in ballots and that "starting a few days on the seventeenth, our 18 drop boxes will be open." County staff said ballots requested now will be processed and mailed quickly.
On the topic of alleged fraud, the commissioner described a recent media report about a potential voter-fraud case and stressed that local safeguards and audits make widespread fraud unlikely. "Voter fraud is a very rare thing...our audits happen after every election," the official said. They added that alleged incidents are handled by prosecuting authorities: "If there is a case of voter fraud...it's up to the Montgomery County District Attorney and the Pennsylvania Attorney General to oversee, the election code enforcement."
The commissioners scheduled Director of Elections Frank Dean to brief the board at an upcoming meeting on Oct. 23 to provide additional election information, including turnout and operational details.
Officials encouraged voters to request ballots in advance, use the designated drop boxes once they open and to contact county elections staff with questions. The board made no changes to election procedures at the meeting; the remarks were informational.
