Several Safe Neighborhood Improvement District (SND) boards affiliated with the City of Lauderhill approved the fiscal-year 2026 millage rates, non-ad valorem special assessments and final budgets during meetings on Sept. 29.
What happened: The board members for multiple SNDs — including the Habitat SND, Manors of Inverie SND, Isles of Inverie SND and Windermere Tree Gardens SND — adopted ordinances setting FY2026 millage and assessment rates and passed resolutions adopting final budgets for each district. Each vote was recorded as unanimous in the limited-agenda board meetings that preceded the regular commission meeting.
Numbers and actions (examples from the meetings):
- Habitat SND: adopted a millage rate of 1.0 mil and a non-ad valorem assessment of $125 per parcel for FY2026 and approved the SND budget to be incorporated in the city budget.
- Manors of Inverie SND: adopted a millage rate of 0.0 mil and assessments varying by association (master association $100, condo associations $400) per parcel per year; approved the FY2026 budget.
- Isles of Inverie SND and Windermere Tree Gardens SND: each board adopted their respective millage and assessment schedules and approved final budgets to be incorporated into the city budget.
Why it matters: The SND levies and assessments provide local funding for neighborhood improvements and operations and will be rolled into the City of Lauderhill’s adopted FY2026 budget.
What comes next: Each approved SND budget will be incorporated into the city’s FY2026 operating budget; the city audit and budget staff will record the assessment proceeds and implement the planned improvements and maintenance work as specified by each SND board.
