Planning staff, who inspected the site with the property owner Terry Gruey, reported the lake and associated features are in good condition and that the owner has integrated the water feature into the parcel’s rural character.
Staff recommended renewal with no change to existing conditions; the commission approved the extension by roll call. Planning staff noted the lake has become valuable wildlife habitat in addition to its aesthetic contribution.
The extension continues the monitoring cycle the city uses for similar large water features; subsequent renewals will occur on the established seven‑year schedule unless conditions change.
