Aldermen reappoint residents to Board of Assessment Appeals ahead of appeals season

The Board reappointed five residents (and appointed two others) to the Board of Assessment Appeals to prepare for the upcoming reevaluation appeal season.
The Shelton Board of Aldermen reappointed Patrick Carey, Paul Jensen and Linda Schwarecker to the Board of Assessment Appeals and appointed Jody Dawley and Tracy Perry to fill years-when-reevaluation positions. The appointments were made effective immediately to ensure the board can hear property-value appeals during the upcoming reevaluation.
Aldermen noted the additional members are needed because appeals hearings start when reassessment work concludes and more members are required to handle the caseload. The motion passed unanimously.
