The City Council approved a specific‑use permit (S‑25‑05) on Oct. 9 to allow a small bar (neighborhood pub/tavern/wine bar) to operate inside Longview Mall in a suite adjacent to The Buckle.
Planning staff member Miss Choi said the permit is required for an establishment under 2,500 square feet in a general retail zoning district. She said the proposed business would be internal to the mall and accessed from within the mall rather than from an exterior entrance. The Planning and Zoning Commission and staff recommended approval.
Councilmembers asked whether the space is self-contained and whether patrons must enter the mall to access the bar; Choi confirmed the bar would be internal and accessed via the mall entrance. A required public hearing produced no speakers and the council voted to approve the specific‑use permit.
