The Coos County Board of Commissioners approved several administrative items including official road names, citizen appointees for property-value appeals, a promotion in the assessor’s office and an ODOT advisory appointment.
The board adopted the official road name Mueller Lane for a road off Railroad Road southeast of Coos Bay and Ria Lane off Flanagan Road south of Coos Bay (order numbers 25-09-044PL and 25-09-043PL were associated with the actions as noted in the meeting).
The county clerk presented a slate of citizens to serve in the Property Value Appeals Board pool; the board appointed Harold Bryce, Fred Messerli and Debbie Heller to the two-year pool used to draw panel members for property-value appeals. The board approved the associated order number 25-09-045L.
In personnel actions, the board approved moving Joshua Moore from Property Appraiser I Step 1 to Property Appraiser II Step 1 effective Oct. 1, 2025, after completing a one-year probationary period; the assessor said the change was included in the FY25–26 budget. The board also approved appointing Paul Slater, the county road master/public works director, to ODOT’s Southwestern advisory committee (SWAC) as the county’s designated representative.
All motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; specific roll-call tallies were not recorded in the transcript excerpt provided.
