City of Tualatin staff told the Washington County Development Forum that the city recently approved an expansion of the Lam Industrial Campus that the city described as a potential $1 billion investment and will add 250,000 square feet across three buildings.
Erin Engman, senior planner for the city of Tualatin, said the city adopted its 2045 transportation system plan in August and has been updating code and design standards; she then summarized recent private development. “We recently approved an expansion of the Lam Industrial Campus. This project represents a potential $1,000,000,000 investment in the region. The expansion will add 250,000 square feet to their campus over three buildings,” Engman said.
Engman said the project generated neighborhood comments during the public comment period, primarily around noise and traffic, but staff found those concerns did not meet the city’s approval criteria. The city is also moving forward on a riverfront park visioning effort and a new 2.5‑million‑gallon water reservoir intended to serve the Basalt Creek planning area.
The forum discussion described the Lam expansion as approved under the city’s existing authority; no new city code changes or financial incentives for this specific project were announced at the meeting.
