During the Sept. 10 meeting the Department of Public Works director provided a report on sanitation operations and street projects.
Staff said brush collection is ongoing and the department has distributed wrap cards and social media notices. Bulk waste collection is scheduled for Sept. 22–26, and fall leaf collection will begin Oct. 13, staff said. The director’s report included a written update on street resurfacing and reconstruction projects detailing current design, bidding and construction stages.
Committee members raised constituent concerns about road work timing, noting neighborhood complaints about resurfacing during football season and other events. Staff explained the year’s unusual April drought delayed the start of road work and that scheduling constraints and event‑related closures can shift work windows. Members thanked staff for the regular resurfacing updates and the committee voted to receive and place the director’s report on file.
