Dolton officers praise joint response after barricade incident; residents report stripped cars

Dolton Police Chief Jeff Chapman led a 7 a.m. roll call in the village’s valley where officers highlighted a recent barricaded-incident response with the Cook County Sheriff's Police and residents raised concerns about vehicles being stripped, participants said.

Everybody did a great job, and, we all walked away on our own accord, including the subject." A resident addressed officers directly during the roll-call meeting and thanked them, saying, "We, the residents, wanna thank you first of all for coming down here, having road calls, and we look forward to you making your presence known more down here considering everything that's happened." Village co-chaplain minister Deborah White then offered a prayer asking for protection and strength for officers as they carry out their work.
