The Improvement and Services Committee on Sept. 10 voted to renew Green Bay’s annual cooperative recycling agreement with Brown County for 2026.
Public Works staff said the city, as a responsible unit under state recycling regulations, partners with Brown County for outreach programs such as an online "waste wizard" and a county recycling guide. "They do a lot of outreach to make sure people know what needs to be recycled," a Public Works staff member said.
Committee members briefly praised the county tools during discussion. A motion to approve the renewal passed by voice vote and will be forwarded to the full Common Council on Sept. 16 for final approval.
The agreement was described as a routine, long‑standing partnership that has been in place for about 20 years; detailed contract language and any fiscal terms were not read into the record during the meeting.
