Wichita County officials say truth-in-taxation worksheets completed early

Wichita County officials on Aug. 5 said truth-in-taxation worksheets for county government were completed earlier than last year, with staff finishing county worksheets July 30 and the County Judge signing them Aug. 1. Officials said finishing the worksheets earlier provided additional time for tax-rate work and coordination among departments.
Commissioners publicly thanked Matt Davis, the county auditor, and tax office staff, including Kendra McAdoo, for their roles preparing the materials. County officials said multiple departments worked together, and that staff who attended a Purdue seminar helped identify items that could be applied to the county's truth-in-taxation work.
Officials noted that work remains for other entities that must complete their worksheets, but that the county's earlier completion — roughly a week ahead of last year — made the process more manageable during a busy budget period.
