Lockport Township High School District 205 swears in four student board members

Dr. Bob McBride, superintendent of Lockport Township High School District 205, said the board congratulated and swore in four students who will serve as student board of education members.
The district selected four students after 26 applicants and 12 interviews. McBride said James Wyatt and Ryan Gleason "will be with the board at every formal monthly board meeting. They'll do a report every month, and they'll be part of all the conversations. They don't vote because they're not elected, but they'll be the student voice at those monthly meetings." He said Abby Carroll will serve on the board finance and facility committee and Evelyn Shlodarczyk will serve on the board curriculum committee.
McBride described the appointments as part of a board priority to elevate student voice. The briefing did not describe a formal motion or vote accompanying the swearing-in.
