The Village of Suamico Board of Trustees unanimously ratified a $11,132.10 expenditure from the Building Maintenance Sinking Fund to replace a failing Simplex fire alarm panel in the municipal building's lower level.
Director Smith explained the existing panel had failed, parts were obsolete and manufacturer support was no longer available: "Parts were obsolete. There was no support with the equipment anymore, so we kinda had no choice but to move on to a newer model." He said Johnson Controls provided a quote; because the facility uses existing Johnson equipment, a full switchover of the building's system would have been significantly more expensive.
Trustee Romas moved to ratify the expenditure and Trustee Andrews seconded. The board approved the motion by roll call, 7โ0. Director Smith reported the installed Simplex 4010ES panel is functioning and has been easier to use during annual testing.
