Stayton council adopts joint sewer operations agreement with Sublimity

Stayton City Council on Oct. 6 adopted Resolution 25-029, approving a joint sewer systems operations agreement with the City of Sublimity by a 4-0 vote.

The agreement had been brought to Stayton previously for discussion but not adoption until Sublimity’s council had reviewed it. Julia, city staff, told the council, “They have seen it and they didn't have any concerns and they actually adopted it at their last last meeting and so this is coming back to you for hopefully adoption.”

Councilor O'Rourke moved to adopt Resolution 25-029; the motion was seconded. Alyssa called the roll: Councilor Ort, Councilor Patty, Councilor Carey and Councilor Sims all voted yes. Mayor presided. There was no public comment on the item and no substantive changes recorded during the meeting.

The resolution approves a formal operations agreement between the two municipal sewer systems; the text presented to council reflects prior review by Sublimity. The council did not attach implementation deadlines or additional conditions during the meeting. Staff did not indicate any immediate budgetary changes tied to the vote.

The council did not list further follow-up actions on the record at the meeting; staff previously indicated Sublimity had already adopted the same agreement and the item therefore returned to Stayton for final approval.
