Elmwood Park High School to host FAFSA and financial aid events Oct. 1 and Oct. 8

Paige Cazara, college and career counselor at Elmwood Park High School, announced two upcoming financial aid events for students and families: an Oct. 1 overview session and an Oct. 8 FAFSA assistance open house.

Cazara said the Oct. 1 session will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the EPHS auditorium and will feature the Illinois Student Assistance Commission walking families through how financial aid is determined and how to maximize eligibility. "We're super excited to be hosting a couple of financial aid events coming up in the next 2 weeks," she said.

The second event is scheduled for Oct. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the high school media center. School counseling staff and Illinois Student Assistance Commission experts will be available to help families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); families were invited to bring tax information to work with counselors and ISAC staff. Cazara said Spanish-speaking staff will be available during the Oct. 8 open house to assist families who need language support. "We will also have Spanish speaking staff available to work with families that have that need. We're excited to walk you through this process," she said.
