USBE reminds LEAs: October data deadlines, Sept. 30 stipend survey deadlines approach

Sam (presenter) told participants the October 1 data deadline for student and educator reporting is firm and that USBE will begin courtesy data reviews on September 9. LEA staff should finalize October 1 submissions by October 6 (the business day deadline) so validations can run and midyear updates proceed.
USBE asked LEAs to submit historical updates and SSID merge requests by Sept. 22 and warned there are no extensions on those deadlines. Sam said the data drives funding and statewide reporting, and urged LEA data teams to work with USBE’s data and statistics experts if questions arise.
On the state’s new one‑time professional support stipend, USBE said LEAs must submit a Qualtrics survey of classified FTEs by Sept. 30 so payments can be processed in October; LEAs must report exact benefit dollars for the $1,000 payments so the agency can send net funding. Staff emphasized the stipend is for paid, payroll employees only (no volunteers or contractors), and that some positions licensed and reported in CACTUS (for example SLPs who already get the educator salary adjustment) do not qualify for the stipend. LEAs may choose other local funds to pay nonqualifying employees but those will not be reimbursed by the state.
USBE advised LEAs to download and archive the October 1 reports for audit records and to contact datastatisticshelp@schools.utah.gov for review assistance.
