Suamico board accepts donated rescue trailer from volunteer fire association

The Village of Suamico Village Board unanimously approved Resolution 25015 to accept a rescue trailer donated by the Suamico Volunteer Fire Association.
Chief Burtler told trustees the department recently acquired rescue equipment that would not fit on existing trucks and requested that the fire association donate a 6‑by‑10 aluminum trailer to carry the items. “It’s a 6 by 10 aluminum trailer. We got it from the Trailer Depot,” Chief Burtler said. He also said an electrical contractor, CESM, would donate electrical work and a graphics company would donate exterior graphics.
Trustee Andrews moved to approve Resolution 25015 accepting the donation; Trustee Romas seconded. During the motion the dollar amount for the donation was stated as $5,765.69; when the motion was read back by a meeting official the amount was recorded as $5,007.65 and 69¢. The board then voted by roll call; the presiding officer announced the motion carried unanimously, 7‑0.
The trailer will be added to the department’s equipment and managed through existing department procedures; during the discussion Chief Burtler noted that some of the department’s confined‑space equipment would be moved onto the trailer because it would not fit on current apparatus. No extra operating budget or long‑term maintenance plan was approved at the meeting. The resolution accepts the in‑kind donation and the associated stated value as recorded in the meeting minutes.
