A representative of Prescott Regional Airport told the tourism advisory committee the airport has seen steady passenger numbers this year and announced an added Denver frequency beginning Oct. 26 and multimillion-dollar grant awards for airfield and development projects.
John Kebrick, speaking for Prescott Regional Airport, said the airport had 14,324 enplanements through July, ‘‘up a little over 200 from last year’’ and that last year’s total was 25,308 enplanements. Kebrick said SkyWest and United were adding a second Denver frequency starting Oct. 26 and that the airline adjusted schedules to improve connections: ‘‘The Denver flight now will be, the first one will be at 09:00 in the morning. The LA flight moves... to 11:20 in the morning,’’ he said.
Kebrick said the airport expects more enplanements as schedule changes improve connection opportunities. He also reported planned capital projects supported by awarded grants: ‘‘we will be receiving over $6,500,000 in federal grants’’ for airfield maintenance and hangar development, and the airport ‘‘was awarded from the state of Arizona $3,500,000’’ for a shared-use ramp with the U.S. Forest Service and related economic-development work.
The airport reported work with tenants and an FBO, Cutter Aviation, which expanded ramp space and is pursuing additional hangars to serve corporate traffic. Kebrick said the airport hopes hangar development will attract more corporate and executive aircraft and business visitors to Prescott.
Kebrick also announced community-facing events: a static-aircraft display and related activities planned for Oct. 6 and the Arizona Airports Association spring conference to be held in Prescott next year. He said Prescott Regional Airport turns 100 on July 4, 2026, and the airport intends to expand airfest activity as part of that anniversary.
Committee members asked whether the added Denver frequency is permanent; Kebrick said it is permanent and that scheduling inventory on carrier websites may be incomplete as United expands booking windows.
