The Richland County Highway and Parks Committee approved a routine resolution to pay maintenance reimbursements to local snowmobile clubs for trail work performed during the 2024–25 season, with the county to receive reimbursement from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR).
The reimbursement covers clubs’ trail maintenance and signage expenses reported in their June 30 reconciliation. "This does not come out of the tax levy. This is on a DNR bond," Highway staff said. Committee members reviewed a draft resolution in the meeting packet and were told the total reimbursement amount for the season was $14,223.85 to be paid to the Hillsborough Trail Blazers and the Richland County Snowmobile Alliance.
A motion to approve the resolution carried; staff said the county will issue checks and then submit reimbursement claims to the DNR under the normal cost-share process.
