The Planning Commission granted a continuance to Sept. 2, 2025, for the preliminary plat application for the LaGrange major subdivision after the applicant’s attorney requested additional time to discuss staff report findings and conditions of approval.
Kevin Dooley, director of planning, told the commission that the applicant’s attorney had asked for the continuance to ‘‘further discuss with staff concerns that they have with the staff report and conditions of approval.’’ Dooley said staff supports the continuance and that it is not uncommon for applicants to request time to resolve issues before appearing before the commission.
Commissioners asked whether a date had been scheduled; Dooley said no firm date had been set beyond the proposed Sept. 2 continuance while staff and the applicant coordinate schedules. A motion to continue the LaGrange preliminary plat to the date presented by town staff passed unanimously.
The continuance was made in the context of broader planning-department work: Dooley also briefed the commission on recent activity, including a July 22, 2025, work session on adequate public facilities (APFO) issues and staffing challenges within the planning department. He said staff will continue to meet with the applicant and bring the item back after outstanding concerns are addressed.
