The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners opened bids July 25 for a four-year property reassessment contract and voted to have county staff review the proposals and return with a recommendation at the board’s Aug. 4 meeting.
Treasury/administrative staff presented two sealed bids during the meeting: Nexus Group, identified in the packet with a maximum four-year total cost of $976,000, and Tyler Technologies, with a four-year bid totaling $892,860. County staff said both bids will be checked to ensure they meet the specifications in the solicitation before a recommendation is made to the commissioners.
County staff asked the commissioners to take the bids under advisement and return at the Aug. 4 meeting with a formal recommendation. A commissioner moved that staff take the proposals under advisement and come back with a recommendation; the motion was seconded and carried.
No award or contract was made at the July 25 meeting. Commissioners said staff would evaluate whether each proposal meets the solicitation’s requirements and report back with findings and a recommendation on Aug. 4.
The packet materials presented at the meeting — and the two bid amounts announced on the record — are evidence of the current competitive responses. The commissioners did not discuss technical scoring details, vendor histories beyond brief remarks that Nexus has done county work “since approximately 2000,” or a preferred vendor at the July 25 session.
Next steps: staff will vet each bid for conformity with the solicitation and present a recommendation to the commissioners at the Aug. 4 meeting.
