Board approves revised Head Start fiscal services plan required by Office of Head Start

The Toledo Public School Board of Education voted Sept. 23 to approve a revised fiscal services plan for the district's Head Start program, a document the board said must be updated every two years to align with federal Head Start requirements.

Presenter Mr. Bowman told the board the revision "needs to be updated every 2 years by the Office of Head Start" to reflect the latest uniform guidance and Head Start performance and business policy. The board approved the revised plan by voice and roll-call vote after a motion to adopt; members recorded as voting yes during the roll call included Missus Fairgood, Missus Barwick, Mister Vasquez, Miss Barnes and Mister Parker.

Board materials provided with the meeting packet identify the item as "revised TPS Head Start fiscal services plan" and note the update is intended to bring district procedures into conformity with current federal guidance. No further amendments were made during the board meeting session.

The approval was procedural: presenters said the update implements federal requirements and district administrative practice rather than creating a new program. The board recorded the approval and directed that the revised plan be posted with committee reports and the district's Head Start documentation.

District staff and the board did not specify dollar amounts, changes to funding sources, or implementation timelines during the meeting; the plan approval was recorded as an item in the consent or early-childhood section of the agenda for Sept. 23.
