The Village of Weston planning commission set a public hearing for Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, at 6 p.m. to consider proposed amendments to the village comprehensive plan that would incorporate neighborhood-quarter plans, housing studies and the recently adopted parks and recreation master plan.
Planning staff explained the amendments bring several separate master-plan components completed over the last several years into the comprehensive plan so the documents are consistent. Staff said the changes include land-use updates from quarter plans, transportation suggestions, housing-study findings and the park-and-recreation master plan adopted earlier in the year. Planner Mark Roffers provided a synopsis included in the commission packet that outlines the key changes.
Staff said the Dec. 9 hearing will also serve as the starting point for the village’s 10-year comprehensive plan update process, which will include public participation and reevaluation of priorities and funding strategies. Commissioners asked for printed copies and staff said hard copies are available on request and that the materials were also emailed to commissioners.
The commission did not vote to adopt amendments at the meeting but scheduled the public hearing and directed staff to proceed with outreach in advance of Dec. 9.
