Suamico board releases Sheedy Farms drainage easement and signs conveyance/non-reimbursement forms for Lineville Road project

The Village of Suamico Board on Oct. 6 adopted Resolution 25,019 to terminate and release the village’s drainage easement affecting Lots 35 and 43 within the Sheedy Farms plat as part of ongoing development changes tied to the Sheedy Farms Fourth Edition plat.
Public works staff explained the drainage easement was dedicated under the third-edition stormwater management plan but is no longer needed because the developer’s fourth-edition changes relocate the road and alter lot configurations. Director Smith said village staff reviewed the request and found no reason to reject it: the easement was required under the earlier plat but will be conveyed or treated differently in the revised plat.
At the same time the board approved two documents requested by Core Engineering related to the Lineville Road reconstruction project: a conveyance-of-rights (COR) form and a statement of non-reimbursement (SNR). Director Smith said Core Engineering handled land-acquisition steps for the county’s road work; the SNR memorializes that the village utilities will not seek compensation for prior utility adjustments made during the reconstruction.
Why it matters: the easement release aligns parcel boundaries with the developer’s updated plat and reduces village maintenance obligations for an easement that will no longer serve stormwater functions on the modified lot. The COR and SNR formalize the legal paperwork needed to complete right-of-way and utility documentation for the Lineville Road project.
Board action and votes: Trustee Romas moved to approve Resolution 25,019 and the easement release; Trustee Neto seconded. Roll call recorded Aye votes from Trustees Neto, Romas, Stevens, Andrews, Eckert, McKeefree and President Van Razon; the motion carried 7–0. Later, the COR and SNR from Core Engineering were approved by the board by the same unanimous margin.
Implementation: Director Smith said utilities have already completed required adjustments and that the documents are largely formalities reviewed by village legal counsel. The SNR states the village will not request reimbursement for past utility relocations.
Trustees proceeded to other items after approving the documents.
