DeKalb County commissioners approved payroll and most claims but withheld payment for two line items from Knox Decorative Painting connected to the clerk's remodel project pending contract review.
During the claims discussion, a commissioner asked whether a $1,329.63 entry for "Knox Decorative Pretty Painting LLC" was part of the clerk's remodel project. Staff confirmed the entry related to repairs and painting in the clerk's office but said the contract for the remodel had not been provided to county attorney Andrew for review.
A commissioner moved to amend the motion to pay all claims except the Knox entries; that amendment passed. The board asked staff to provide the contract and split billing detail so the withheld items can be evaluated.
The minutes and other routine items (payroll, minutes, county-home acknowledgement) were approved separately during the same meeting.
