Uintah County commissioners approved Nov. 26 revised booking agreements for Buckskin Hills events that update liability-insurance minimums to align with Utah code and allow the Tourism and Events office to sign routine contracts.

Maddie Maynard, tourism and events, told the commission the principal substantive change from the prior contract language was the insurance requirement: $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,500,000 aggregate to conform with Utah code. “Our biggest notable change, really the only change that wasn't grammatical, was the change of insurance requirement and that, puts us in accordance with the Utah code,” Maynard said. She also said the contract language had been modified to make checks payable to the county as recommended.

The commission discussed whether a formal motion was required; staff said the change is administrative but welcomed having the action on the public record. A commissioner moved to approve the forms as presented to allow Tourism and Events to enter into those contracts without bringing each contract back to the commission unless modifications are required; the motion passed by voice vote.
