Acupuncture group tells board dry needling is acupuncture and urges stricter oversight

Allowing providers to bypass California's rigorous acupuncture training and licensure requirements by calling it something else...puts patients at serious risk.”
Fisk asked the board to view the matter as both a public-health and regulatory issue and to maintain protections that apply to regulated acupuncture practice in California. The board accepted the comment as part of its public-comment period; no action or response was recorded in the transcript.
