The Pasco County MPO board on Aug. 21 approved nine roll‑forward amendments to the fiscal‑year Transportation Improvement Program so projects that were funded but not implemented in the prior year can be added into the current Florida Department of Transportation work program.
MPO staff clarified the agenda item was not a full TIP update but a roll‑forward of previously committed projects. The roll‑forward allows FDOT District 7 to include the projects in its current work program so construction or implementation can proceed.
Scott Berry and other MPO staff outlined the projects on the roll‑forward list, which include capacity and resurfacing projects (State Road 52 widening from Aaron Cutoff to County Road 581, resurfacing on US‑98 and State Road 56), a drainage project on US‑19, a traffic signal on US‑301 at Wire Road, a County Line Road capacity project, and several transit projects to be applied to Pasco County transit. Staff said these are not new projects but previously committed projects that were not implemented in the previous fiscal year.
Board members discussed local capacity priorities, including County Line Road, State Road 52 and Back of the Bay Parkway; MPO staff noted County Line Road and other county facilities are on the MPO’s cost‑feasible list and that county commitment would be needed for county‑owned facility construction.
The board approved the roll‑forward package by voice vote following a motion and second. MPO staff said the roll‑forward is an annual administrative action to keep committed projects on the work program.
