Pontiac Election Commission appoints precinct inspectors for Nov. 4, 2025, election

The Pontiac Election Commission voted unanimously to appoint precinct inspectors for the Nov. 4, 2025, general election during a brief meeting that began at 4:03 p.m. and adjourned at 4:06 p.m.

The action ensures inspectors will be in place for the upcoming general election and was followed by an announcement that the commission will hold a public accuracy test for voting equipment on Oct. 20 at 12 p.m. in the City Council Chambers; the public was invited to attend the test.

Commissioners Estimer, Doyle and Altman recorded “yes” votes in roll calls approving the appointments. The meeting record shows a prior procedural motion to remove approval of the minutes from Oct. 3, 2025, from the agenda so corrections could be made and that the corrected minutes will be placed on a future meeting agenda.

During the roll calls, Mr. Quirk moved to remove approval of the Oct. 3, 2025, minutes from the agenda; the motion was seconded and passed 3-0. A subsequent motion to approve the agenda as amended passed by the same 3-0 tally.

On the appointment item the commission moved to approve the precinct inspectors for the Nov. 4 general election; the motion was seconded and approved in a roll call showing the three recorded yes votes. The transcript did not list the names or number of the precinct inspectors that were appointed.

The presiding official announced the public accuracy test and said, “The public accuracy test is on October 20 at 12PM right here in the City Council Chambers, and the public is invited to attend the public accuracy test.” The test, the presiding official said, is intended to allow the public to observe equipment checks before the election.

There were no public comments at the meeting. The commission then approved a motion to adjourn and ended the meeting at 4:06 p.m.
