The amendment also authorizes a fee to recreate the “right to burial” deed — set at $50 per hour with a $50 minimum — when an original deed cannot be located.
Trustees asked whether the proposed fee and sale practice complied with state laws; Clerk Bartolletti said she was unaware of any state statute that would bar selling cremation-only plots or charging the document-recreation fee. Trustees noted the village previously updated its cemetery ordinance to correct compliance issues and that the GIS analysis revealing these small lots came after that ordinance correction.
A roll-call vote recorded all seven members as voting in favor; the motion carried 7–0.
