School committee approves local Montessori school's certification

Superintendent Allison and committee member Matt reported on a site visit that included classroom observation and meetings with school leadership. Allison described the school as "a lovely school" and noted the documentation provided about curriculum, safety and staff qualifications. The committee heard that the program currently serves 12 students and expects to grow to about 20; committee members said the materials were "comprehensive" and "transparent."
A committee member moved to approve the school certification; the motion was seconded and the committee voted in favor (5‑0‑0).
