The board approved issuing continuing contracts to Christopher Kolarek and Melissa Kolarek and approved limited and day-to-day substitute contracts for several individuals. A district staff member summarized the employment motions: "First is Michaela Marshall and Sarah Leete as, under a 1 year limited substitute teacher contract for the 2024-25 school year... issuing a continuing contract to the following certified personnel who have met all licensure coursework and service requirements, and that, is with Christopher Kolarek and Melissa Kolarek." The minutes show roll-call approval for the employment motions; board members answering "yes" included Missus Sensi, Miss Hayes, Mister Douglas, Mister Hart and Thompson.
The board completed the second reading of recommended policy revisions provided by Neola. The board took a roll-call vote; Mister Varma, Missus Sensi, Mister Douglas, Miss Hayes and Miss Thompson voted yes.
Under the consent calendar the board approved: the Madison High School program of studies for 2025-26; adding attorneys Retzel and Andres to the approved attorney list effective April 1, 2025; a service agreement between Madison Local Schools and the Educational Service Center of the Western Reserve effective July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2027; the checklist of services for the 2025-26 school year; and contracts with the Lodge and Conference Center at Geneva on the Lake to rent the facility and use catering services for Madison High School prom dates as listed on file at the board office. The staff member clarified a contract-date confusion related to prom contracts from the prior year.
Finally, the board moved into executive session for "the appointment, employment, dismissal, discipline, promotion, demotion, or compensation of public employees or regulated individuals." A roll-call vote to enter executive session passed with board members voting yes as recorded.
