The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors voted to approve two landfill-related expenditures: a $16,886 invoice to Team Services Inc. for contractual well and leachate services and a $682 purchase of a water-level meter to monitor landfill well levels.
Chad (Landfill staff) presented the Team Services Inc. invoice and described field work that left a small reduction in billing because a few wellheads were frozen and could not be serviced immediately; staff said the remaining work should be completed within the next two weeks. The board approved payment by motion of Supervisor Steve and second by Supervisor Scott.
Staff also requested purchase of a water-level meter (listed at $682) to enable periodic measurement of leachate and groundwater levels in monitoring wells; the board approved that purchase by motion (mover Scott; second Isaac).
The board discussed next steps for closing remaining well work and for submitting the required biannual engineering report to the Iowa DNR; staff said they expect the related engineering contract for the next year will be about $3,000 and that the work will be concluded before the next report cycle.
Outcome: Both expenses were approved and will be paid from the landfill budget.
