Court ratifies personnel hires and authorizes county to receive state 'safe' funds

Pike County Fiscal Court, returning from executive session on Aug. 5, acknowledged multiple personnel actions and ratified an agreement intended to allow the county to begin receiving state "safe" funds.
The court approved hiring Aiden Arnett as a solid-waste loader (effective 07/16/2025), Tanner Klein as seasonal labor at Public Works (effective 07/31/2025), Danny Casey as a seasonal laborer (effective 07/31/2025), and moved Bert Trivet and others between seasonal roles. The court also approved moving Billy Tussey to the animal shelter manager position effective 08/05/2025. The personnel actions were presented after an executive session citing Kentucky Revised Statute 61.81 for proposed or pending litigation and personnel matters.
Separately, the court ratified an agreement signed with Kentucky Emergency Management to expedite receipt of state "safe" funds. County staff reported the contract had been sent to the state but the county had not yet received the funds; staff said they would check on the contract status and follow up.
No labor disputes or appeals were recorded on the public record during the meeting.
