Public works staff told the committee a roughly 500-square-foot area of roof at the Coastal Interpretive Center has leaked and damaged ceiling drywall and insulation in an exhibit space; accumulated guano also requires removal and reinstallation of insulation.

Staff said an insulation-only estimate from Servpro was about $63,000 while a low bid to do all repairs was $64,000; a later bid received the next day was $75,000. Staff said the project will go to the city council for approval tomorrow.

No formal decision was made at the Public Works Committee meeting; staff will forward the bids and recommend a contract award to council for its consideration.
