The Bloomington City Board of Public Works on July 29 approved a Title 6 abatement to address overgrowth at a vacant property at 708 South Adams Street.
Mike Arnold of Housing and Neighborhood Development told the board, "This is a property that's been vacant for several years. We go through this process every year to to, abate it for, high grass, And that's what we're asking you to do is allow us to, mow this property." Arnold said staff has dealt with the property for three or four years and has not received responses from any representatives or the owner.
Board members confirmed that overgrowth was the only outstanding issue on the parcel. With no public comment, the board voted to approve the Title 6 abatement; roll call recorded Carone Aye, Roach Aye and Cox Deckard Aye.
The abatement authorizes city crews to mow the property under the city’s nuisance-abatement code (Title 6).
