An RVE evaluation found significant additional erosion and concluded a subsequent storm could cause collapse of poles and wires into the stream. Under state law, the borough declared an emergency and began steps to secure remediation; council ratified the emergency via resolution. The engineering staff advised no full repair had been completed yet, but the emergency declaration allowed the borough to begin procuring contractors and design work immediately.
Next steps: The borough will finalize contracts or emergency procurement to perform streambank stabilization work; staff will report back to council when contractors are under contract and work begins.
