The Village of Weston Planning Commission approved a replat Monday to adjust a west boundary line in the Green Tree Acres subdivision after surveyor data-transfer errors caused a discrepancy in monument locations.
Staff explained that pins originally placed in the field did not transfer correctly into office equipment, deleting some points and creating a mismatch on the west boundary. A neighbor alerted staff that a lot line appeared off by several feet. The replat corrects that west boundary to match the original subdivision monuments and does not alter north-south lot lines or reduce lot sizes below code requirements, staff said.
Commissioners discussed the technical cause (a transfer error between field and office equipment), confirmed the adjustment was minimal for most lots (fractions of a foot at the north end; about 4 feet at the bottom end of the affected area) and found that the proposal still met all lot-size and code requirements. Commissioner Gert moved to approve the replat; Commissioner Mumper seconded. The commission carried the motion by voice vote.
Staff noted the change was an administrative correction and would not affect building permits for the properties in the subdivision.
