Southgate Triangle neighborhood group reports tree plantings, Bellevue Park bridge and plan for Southgate Crossing park

Carrie Schreiber, a leader of the Southgate Triangle neighborhood group, gave a short neighborhood update during the council’s special presentations on Oct. 6 describing recent volunteer work and partnerships with the Missoula Parks Department.
Schreiber said volunteers used Energizer grants to plant trees, including seven ponderosas recently planted and watered by neighborhood members, and that the parks department will help install water lines to reduce manual watering. She highlighted a new pedestrian bridge at Bellevue Park that improves access to the bike park and a gravel pathway through the park, and said the group supports creation of a public park at Southgate Crossing.
The neighborhood group invited residents in the area to a community meeting scheduled for Wednesday at City Life Church. Council members thanked the group for its volunteer work and noted the Bellevue Park bridge has improved neighborhood access.
No council action was required; the presentation served as a community update.
