Suamico rezones 5.6‑acre parcel for future water well and tower

The Village of Suamico Village Board on Sept. 15 approved Ordinance 2025‑6 to rezone parcels SU731‑1 and SU728‑1A from rural residential to public lands and institutions. The parcels, about 5.6 acres in total, are at the southwest corner of Cedar Lane and Northwood Road and have been identified as the site for a future municipal well, tower and storage.
Zoning Administrator Dunks told the board the village purchased the property about five years earlier and that the well installation is under way on the southern portion of the site. Dunks said the rezone was missed at purchase and the village is now seeking code compliance before constructing supporting structures.
Planning Commission recommended approval on a 6–0 vote. The board opened and closed the public hearing with no public comment. Board members asked technical questions about extending utilities to the north side of the parcel; Dunks said water service could be extended north but sewer access would be more challenging.
A motion to approve the rezone was offered and seconded; a roll call vote recorded ayes from all six members present and the ordinance passed unanimously, 6–0.
