Falls City approved a request by the Creative District to use the grass lot north of the library at 1506 Stone Street for a Sunday Funday picnic-table painting event.
A Creative District representative described plans for roughly 10 picnic tables to be painted by local organizations and volunteers, with organizers providing paint and supplies. The representative asked that the parks crew seal the tables afterward to ensure longevity. Staff said previous years’ efforts included painting and powder-coating table components and that the city has refurbished dozens of tables over the last two years.
Councilmembers asked whether the Creative District required a submittal describing designs; the organizer said the group provided a “loose concept” reviewing paint choices and themes. The request was moved, seconded and approved with seven ayes.
