Alt said the renewal is intended to guide downtown development for the next decade while allowing flexibility for future changes.
Alt also gave a brief report on recent downtown activity, saying the DDA is testing visitor-data tools and citing recent events: a "ladies night out" that drew "over 500 people" and a car cruise and food-truck event that drew "over 2,300 people" to downtown.
Why it matters: Renewal of the DDA's TIF plan determines downtown development priorities and the use of increment revenues that finance projects in the district. The public hearing will allow residents and property owners to weigh in on the plan renewal.
