Councilmembers expressed support for the single point-of-contact approach in the plan and for the ability to designate a city liaison to coordinate with county agencies. On motion the council adopted Resolution No. 2177, a resolution regarding the governing body’s intent to implement a local emergency operations plan for the City of Gardner, Kansas.
Staff noted that the plan clarifies when county resources would be engaged and provides contact and role definitions for elected officials in emergencies. The resolution passed with recorded yes votes by council members present.
