Assistant City Manager Burke told the commission the Kansas Housing Resource Corporation selected Thompson Pointe Apartments as a recipient of the 2026 Low Income Housing Tax Credit and the Kansas Affordable Housing Tax Credit.

Burke said Zimmerman Properties is the applicant and the project is 48 units composed of three-bedroom, two-bath and two-bedroom, two-bath units targeted at households earning about 50–60% of area median income. The project site is the northeast corner of West Thompson Street and Eleventh Street, near parks, a grocery store, the new health department and an elementary school, Burke said. "So very excited to see that announcement come through and wanted to share that with you all," Burke said.

Burke offered to answer questions; commissioners congratulated staff and the applicant. No formal action was required—the item was an informational update to the governing body.
