The School City of Mishawaka Board of School Trustees approved the 2025 Child Nutrition Program Procurement Plan at its Oct. 8 meeting.
During the public comment period, David Strong of Mishawaka asked whether there is a statutory requirement that the board must approve and publish the food-service procurement plan and asked where the full text of proposed policy revisions (rather than NEOLA summaries) can be found online. He also asked for the district's fall 2025 ADM counts for Mishawaka High School, the Caveman Academy of Virtual Excellence, and the systemwide total, and whether Steele Stadium bathrooms are fully ADA compliant.
District staff introducing the item said the procurement plan should be reviewed annually and recommended approval; the plan was moved and approved by the board. The presenter referenced that the TA had been posted on the district website on Oct. 3 in the context of a different agenda item.
