Planning commission closes public hearing and approves recommendation on 2025 Fire Functional Plan

The matrix review covered monitoring and cadence responsibilities, wording clarifications and vegetation/wildfire management language; staff said the items had been addressed and recommended closing them.
After commissioners confirmed there were no remaining unresolved issues, Chair Weston called for a motion to approve the planning commission recommendation and the report as amended on the 2025 Fire Functional Plan. A commissioner moved and a second was given; the commission voted in favor with the ayes called and the chair adjourned the meeting.
Staff and commissioners discussed continuing education and offered to provide further background on fire-department operations; staff confirmed next steps and noted the report will proceed through any remaining administrative steps toward adoption.
