Waukegan Public Schools reminded fans attending the Bulldogs' season opener Friday night against Plainfield Central of several game-day rules.

Nicholas Alaczakis, director of communications for Waukegan Public Schools, said: "Backpacks are not allowed." He added that only high school students from Waukegan or the opposing team with a valid school ID may enter and that there is no reentry once a spectator leaves the game.

The district advised fans to consult Waukegan High School Athletics' social media channels for a fuller list of game-day rules and expectations.

The announcement was included in the district's weekly communications for the week of Aug. 25; it did not list specific enforcement procedures, ticketing information, or a full code of conduct in the brief notice.
